Thinking Blogger Award

Well, wasn’t I surprised when I paid a visit to my friend Alyson’s blog – 3 Ps in a Pod – to find that she has given me a Thinking Blogger Award! Thank you so much for the sweet things that you said about me. Like you said, we don’t get to see each other often, but you and your family will always have a special place in my heart. I remember the first time that we met and meeting P1 and P2 for the first time and the night you came over to celebrate our referral for Mia. Now I am bursting with joy that you are finally going to China for P3!

As part of this honor bestowed upon me by Alyson, I get to select five blogs to honor and share with my readers. And, the Thinking Blogger Award goes to…

Painted Rainbows and Chamomile Tea – Citcat’s mommy adores reading children’s books and she is always on the hunt for interesting, quality books to use as she home schools her 3 year old daughter. Our library wish list has probably quadrupled since I started reading Painted Rainbows and Chamomile Tea and I always learn something new from this amazing mama!

Planet Nomad – I believe that I’ve mentioned this blog previously. This American mom lives in Mauritania with her husband and three children. I love being transported to a land far removed from my life in suburbia to virtually experience life in the desert.

Owlhaven – Mary is so real and down to earth that I know that she would be so much fun to hang out with for an afternoon. On especially challenging days with my two children, I remember that Mary skillfully and patiently balances eight children with two more waiting for her in Ethiopia. I’ve gathered many recipes and wonderful words of inspiration, wisdom and humor from the Mom at Owlhaven.

Chinese Starfish – This blog fills my heart with so much joy and hope. As far as I know, Amanda has no biological children, but she is a wonderful, loving, self-sacrificing mother to more than 16 children. Her dedication to orphaned Chinese children with special needs is so inspirational. She reminds me that one person can do remarkable things that change the lives of others forever.

The LPM Blog – This uplifting, inspirational and thoughtful blog is written by Beth Moore and her eldest daughter Amanda. Okay. I’ve tried to find just the right words to describe this blog, but I can’t. I’m tapped out. These beautiful women just make me think!

Congratulations, you won a Thinking Blogger Award! Now you can share your five favorite blogs that make you think. The participation rules are simple:
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog).
