Update in Photos...

We said goodbye to Mia's crib and hello to a big girl bed on November 21st.
Happy Thanksgiving! The four of us enjoyed a massive dinner with all the fixin's.

On November 24th, this adorable little guy showed up on our doorstep. The girls just finished getting ready for bed when the doorbell rang. Of course that's reason for much excitement in our house at any time of the day. Daddy opened the door to find a box addressed to Emily and Mia from none other than Santa! You can find out more about this little guy here.

Mia had surgery on both of her eyes on November 27th. The purpose of the surgery was to release the muscles that were pulling her eyes in toward her nose. She was a real trooper through the pre-op stuff and coming out of anesthesia. After we got home, she spent the afternoon laying on the sofa eating Gold Fish crackers. She has double vision right now (that the doctor confirmed as normal and expected when I called yesterday) and is still having some discomfort (the doctor also said that older kids have described it as feeling like they had sand in their eyes - ouch!). She hates the antibiotic drops that we need to use four times a day, but they seem to help alleviate some of the discomfort by lubricating her eyes. Unfortunately, she doesn't understand that and fights me with everything she has. She has her first follow up appointment with the doctor tomorrow (Friday), so I will post more after the appointment.

Thanks to all of you who knew about the surgery and prayed for us!

Day before surgery - November 26th

Just hanging out entertaining the nurses and doctors in pre-op...

After the "goofy juice"...I tried to convince the nurses to give me a few doses of the "juice" to take home with me! After a short gigglefest, she was in lala land.

At home after the surgery...
